  5. If MacAmp significally lags your Macintosh, try the following steps:

  7. Ñ╩Turn on low CPU mode
  8. Low CPU mode deactivates EQs and turns on internal optimization routines causes lower CPU load.
  9.  
  10. Ñ╩Turn off the spectrum analyzer
  11. Spectrum analyzer eats up plenty of CPU cycles. You can free up some CPU by deactivating it. To do so, just click on it.

  13. Ñ╩Turn off the ID3 tags scroll, if any
  14. If the song has ID3 tags in it, a special ticker-tape scroll is enabled. To disable, click on it. That will free up some CPU too.

  16. Ñ╩Hide player window
  17. When hidden, certain tasks are disabled. That can speed up MacAmp.
  18.  
  19. Ñ Disable running Visual Plugins
  20. Visual Plugins can consume a lot of CPU power. Close all visual plugins windows.
